Students in my enrichment class have been working on creating videos for our Digital Magazine. Students needed to combine photos, music, and voice over (where they describe the event shown in the photos), to create a mini digital story. The videos are being created using weVideo, a free video editing program that students access with their school accounts. The videos can be created and edited at home as well because all of their work is being stored in their Google Drive. Ask your students to share their videos with you! They will be added to the website soon!

Mrs. Kingzett bet Andrew that he couldn't stay on all four legs of his chair for an entire math period. The terms were, that if he DID complete this task, and stayed "four on the floor" for the whole period, she and I would go to the last football game of the season. I'm so glad Andrew was able to complete it because it was such fun seeing the BYSA 5th and 6th grade football team play. It was a fantastic game, and so nice to see kids in a setting that's not the classroom. The kids played hard and even though it was a loss, you could tell they loved the game and enjoyed playing together. I was able to round up some 6th graders to get a photo at the end of the game. Go Tide! This week my ELA students started reading the book The Revealers by Doug Wilhelm. Doug Wilhelm is a Vermont author that traveled around the state to gather stories from students who had been bullied. He used his research to write a story about bullied students who finally make the choice to fight back. It's a wonderful story about middle school, and students relate so well to it. We have made it through the first four chapters, and I can honestly say, all are excited to read each day! It's an action packed story that we are all enjoying together!
