This week we worked on reaching our goal of 150 food items, for our schoolwide food drive. We are currently at 122 items. If you are out grocery shopping this weekend, please consider buying an extra jar of peanut butter or a box of cereal. This would help us reach our goal by Monday. Thanks to those of you who have been sending in all of these items! It's such a great cause!
Also this week, our TA had our first TA lunch (a few pics below). We are going to start having a weekly lunch in our TA. It was fun to see students laugh and enjoy each other's company while playing games and eating. It was a relaxed lunch and kids requested that we do it again next week. So students will come up each Wednesday, and have lunch in the classroom! This isn't required, it's an optional thing, but most say they will be back! I know it was on the 6th grade blog, but please send students to school with boots, jackets, hats, and gloves (at least), and also snowpants if they want to be on the hill. It was brutally cold outside today, and students were out there in shorts! Lastly, today students helped sort and bag all of our gifts and clothing for our family. The gift drive coordinators were so impressed and thankful for all that we did! Thanks again for all of the donations! We were able to help so many! Have a great weekend! We have accomplished a lot over this crazy week! In TA we were able to reach our goal of bringing in 100 cans for the food drive, the students then decided to up the goal to 150. We currently have brought in 103 cans! If students want to donate we have until next Friday to bring in food. It's so awesome to see the generosity of this community! Also this week, due to the coin drive, some generous donations from you, and some Black Friday and Cyber Mondy shopping, our family that we adopted is completely outfitted! They have toys, winter gear, and clothes! We even had enough left over money from our coin drive, that we were able to help Mrs. Allen's TA with their family AND we were able to donate money to another family! There have been parents emailing me about how they can still help, if you have interest you could donate to Mrs. Allen's family or if you want to help further, please contact Kim Benson in the office. Thank you all so much for your generous donations and help with this community service project! I think the students gain a lot from this project! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, enjoy the pictures! |
