Kacie was our PTA recipient- here are all the nice things her classmates said about her! She always makes people laugh and follows directions when asked. She is always on task, keeping others in line, and is overall an awesome person. Kacie is nice to everyone. She always reminds people of directions and she helps point things out to people. She is respectful. She is very hardworking and kind. She always turns in her homework and she is responsible. I think Kacie because she makes my day better with her smile and she has a positive attitude. Also, she treats others the way they want to be treated. She always wears a smile, is always cheerful, she does her best, works hard. She makes sure people are doing the right things that way people don’t get into trouble. She is always bright, she respects others, and she is just an amazing person. In other news, we have semi-decided on songs for Lip-Sync. We are sticking with our beach theme, with a bit of humor and creativity thrown in. We have not had a ton of time to work on it, but we will dive head first this coming week. Some props we will be looking for in the near future include swim caps, beach towels, and goggles. If you want to send any in, please let me know via email! We don't need them right now, but we will need them towards the middle of February. Thanks in advance for your help.

It's that time of year again, when the middle school all starts to prep for our most exciting event of the year, LIP SYNC! We will be participating in our 3rd Annual Lip Sync Battle on Friday, February 23rd. Each TA plans, preps, and practices their performances until they are perfect- and then performs them in front of the entire middle school! We are given points in the following categories : creativity, costumes, choreography, and lip syncing. The points are added up, and whoever has the most points, gets to have the Golden Sap Bucket trophy housed in their TA for an entire year!
While this even is not "open to the public," due to the gym being jam packed with middle school kids and teachers, I do video each and every performance, so that we can share them with families. This week we finally came to a decision about what we will be working on. We combined a couple of different ideas to create a funny and creative performance. We have a summery/beachy theme, with some water activities included. Be sure to ask your student what it our ideas are! Our focus during TA for the next 6 weeks, will be all of the work that goes into this fun performance. We have to figure out how to flow it all together, who is going to be doing which parts, and what our props will look like. We are just in the early stages of this planning. We may be asking for some help in the area of costumes. Please be looking for updates and photos from this process! If you are new to our school, or you don't remember the lip sync happening last year, feel free to check out the links below to see our past performances. 2017 Lip Sync 2016 Lip Sync One last thing- please remember to follow our classroom Instagram page!
