During TA this week, we continued our discussion about kindness. We focused our time on an activity that required everyone to look at their classmates through the lens of kindness. The activity was called Acknowledgement Buffet. Students wrote their names on a large piece of paper in a creative way. They then passed their papers around the classroom so by the end, everyone had written one thing that they appreciated about every single one of their classmates. This morning, students were given the chance to read the nice things their classmates said about them. The things students wrote were very thoughtful and heartfelt. We talked about how good it feels when someone goes out of their way to be kind or to say something nice. We also talk about how it's important to know that we all don't have to be friends with one another, but we do need to respect each other and care enough to acknowledge the positive qualities we all have. We hung our papers around the room so that we are reminded of all the things our classmates appreciate about each person in this room. There are pictures below. Also below- check out the pics of us playing after SBACs yesterday- we were dancing to use up some of our energy!
