This week we've been playing a game called "Is This Seat Taken?" This is a fun, fast paced game that happens in a circle. Students try to trade seats with each other without the person who is "it" knowing. Whoever is left without a chair, ends up becoming the person who is "it." We played for two days and then on the third day, I asked for students to give me suggestions on how to make this game more fun. The suggestions ranged from "make two people it" to "you can only trade seats twice." Then, Brady randomly said "you can only crawl across the circle." This suggestion was so interesting that we decided to go with it. At first crawling meant, moving across the floor on their hands and knees, but the kids said it hurt, and then suggested only hands and feet needed to be on the floor. This became the new rule and hilarity ensued! Luckily I stood on a chair to get some funny pictures! Please see below. On an unrelated note, I completely lost my voice on Wednesday, and your kiddos really rose to the occasion. They were so helpful! We used the computers/Promethean board to communicate, and a few students helped me give quick verbal messages to the whole group. A teacher without a voice isn't ideal, but they were awesome and really helped me out! Very impressed with them and their behavior! Enjoy the pictures below- they are quite silly!
