On Monday of last week we had an awards ceremony for sixth graders. We recognized students for a few different things during this time. We recognized students that did not miss a single assignment all of quarter two, in each content area. We also recognized students that did not receive any behavior forms for all of quarter two! Students names that were on these lists were put into a hat and drawn for a "Free A." A "Free A" award means that student can skip a weekly homework assignment in Math or ELA (Comp, Jumpstart, etc) and get a Free A in place of doing the work! Ten of these Free A's were awarded! On top of those great accomplishments we asked sixth graders to honor a student from their TA who they thought was a Positive Team Member. PTA recipients were nominated by their peers using the following criteria: *Responsible (Organized, cleans up, prepared for class) *Respectful (Helps others, listens, behaves appropriately) *Effort (Tries hard, motivated) *Positive Attitude (Kind, Upbeat) Students recognized one student from their TA that met all of the criteria above and then wrote about why that student met that criteria. Emma C, Nathan R., Jake D., and Evan K., were the four recipients for quarter two. They received a certificate with all of the kind words that students said about them written on the back. They also were awarded a gift certificate to the Next Chapter Book Store, in Barre! It's such an honor to be recognized by peers, these students should be so proud!
